Denis Coutagne: The movements influenced by Cézanne would be called in the future: Cubism, Fauvism, and Abstraction. All artists of the first half of the 20th century would declare him as the father («our father of all»). Nowadays there are many influential interpretations of how Cézanne’s creative activity found continuation in the works of Picasso, Matisse, Derain, Mondrian, Malevich, Kandinsky, and influenced the development of Modernism in Europe and the USA.
